January 24, 2025 – SEGA has released more information about the Goro Pirates and their exhilarating voyages in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launches on February 21, 2025, for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam.
The Goro Pirates: Become Pirates of Legend! Amass a Crew from All Over Hawaii and Set Sail on the Goromaru!
In Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, join Captain Majima and his Goro Pirates aboard the Goromaru for a swashbuckling voyage across the Pacific! Scorching waters riddled with volcanoes, treacherous blizzards, and various other challenges await on the open sea. Prepare to reinforce the Goromaru, assemble a band of buccaneers, discover hidden treasures, and etch your crew’s name into the annals of pirate history.
● The Goromaru
Your seaworthy vessel, named after Noah’s feline friend, Goro. In addition to letting you enjoy life at sea, the Goromaru boasts the captain’s quarters and several other facilities, where you can kick back with some Karaoke, parties, and feasts with your crew! Below deck, you can cook in the kitchen and customize Majima’s outfit.
● Scouting
You’ll meet characters around town who may be willing to join the Goro Pirates, including some familiar faces from past games. Scout your favorites and assemble the crew of your dreams!
● Challenges
Completing challenges, such as defeating enemy pirates or gathering treasure, helps Majima increase the crew’s reputation. As you earn more reputation, the Pirate Rank of the Goro Pirates will increase, unlocking a slew of benefits!
● A Treasury of Treasures
Use the Treasury of Treasures to discover hints about the locations of hidden treasures. When obtaining a treasure, you’ll receive money and reputation, which can help you strengthen the Goro Pirates and improve their pirate rank. Amass a fortune and work toward completing the log!
● Bounties
Take down wanted criminals and turn them in for some cold, hard cash. Bounties are an excellent way to rake in enough dough to strengthen Majima and upgrade the Goromaru, so keep an eye out for bounties on the map and wanted posters!
● Rings
Accessories that Majima can equip with varying special effects, including boosts to his Attack and Defense. In addition to purchasing them in stores, you can acquire them by helping townspeople with their troubles or finding them in treasure chests. Your equipped rings can be seen on Majima’s fingers, so have fun decking him out with different looks and effects!
● Voyages
The ocean is broken up into diverse zones, each containing its own pirate crews for you to defeat. Journey across seas surrounded by luscious greenery, scorching waters riddled with volcanoes, brittle climates, and more on your hunt to track down a legendary treasure.
Menacing bilgerats prowl the Hawaiian seas, so make sure you’re fully prepared before you set sail. Use the Prepare to Sail menu to adjust your crew formation, customize the Goromaru’s looks and equipment, or boost your firepower.
● Downtime on Deck
During voyages, you’re free to roam the deck of the Goromaru!
In safe areas, you can mingle with the crew, set up a net to catch fish and gather materials, and batten down the hatches for the next leg of your adventures at sea.
● Fishing Nets
Attach a trawl net to the Goromaru so you can efficiently bring in a variety of fish, materials, and other items during your voyages!
● Interacting with Your Crew
Talk to your crew members to check in with them. You can also give gifts that raise their morale and EXP, so try to mingle with them whenever possible!
● Scope
View objects of interest through the scope to glean more information. Assess the strength of enemy vessels, uncover details on treasure islands, and more!
● Parties and Feasts
Raise your crew’s morale by throwing raucous parties! Bringing everyone together for a hearty toast will lift everyone’s spirits. You can also instantly boost the EXP of a select group of crew members by inviting them to a feast in the captain’s quarters.
● Threats at Sea
During voyages, the environment around you will undergo drastic changes, putting you in peril of the elements, from heavy snowfall to devastating whirlpools. Take the helm and navigate your ship to safety!
● Treasure Islands
Vast riches rest on the islands surrounding Hawaii, but beware of treasure-hungry pirates, toxic gas, lava, and more! Select your finest crewmate, explore the island, and bring home the treasure!
