June 10, 2024 – SEGA is proud to announce that ATLUS’s Studio Zero has hosted another showcase on June 8 to reveal details about the Archetype system in their latest RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio. Additionally, pre-orders for Metaphor: ReFantazio’s Digital Standard Edition and the Atlus Brand 35th Digital Anniversary Edition are now open.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is planned to be released on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Steam.

Join ATLUS for an exclusive showcase on YouTube Live on the SEGA Asia Channel, where they’ll offer a deep dive into Metaphor: ReFantazio! The stream was broadcast worldwide on June 8 at 10:00 AM (JST).
Dive into the world of Metaphor: ReFantazio with director Katsura Hoshino and learn all about Archetypes, the heart and soul of Metaphor’s gameplay, through new in-game footage shared by the development team.
The power of Archetypes grants you unparalleled freedom in swapping your characters’ classes. To succeed in battle, you’ll need to make the most of your Archetypes!
ATLUS Exclusive livestream announced that there would be 14 lineages and over 40 Archetypes to choose from. At the start, you’ll have access to the Knight Archetype, a defensive specialist that is able to provide protection, and the Healer Archetype, which can utilize restorative magic.
Half of the game’s Archetypes were unveiled during the stream.
Shigenori Soejima, Metaphor: ReFantazio’s character designer, and Yuji Himukai, who ATLUS fans may know as the illustrator of the Etrian Odyssey series, designed the art for the Archetypes!
Archetypes can gain EXP through battle and acquire a myriad of skills. Once your Archetype reaches a high-enough level, they can take on a more powerful form.
