The Priestess of Virga Island
Eupha (VA: Misato Fukuen)
Eupha is a young mustari woman revered as the sacred priestess in the mustari village on Virga Island, playing a central role in the Dragon God religion many mustari believe in. Though mustari are naturally adept at magic, her senses are especially keen in that her third eye allows her to clearly perceive the flow of magla. The first archetype that Eupha awakens to is “Summoner.”
Metaphor: ReFantazio Discover the Joy of Travelling
・Depart for adventure
Once you obtain a gauntlet runner after the prologue, your journey gets into full swing. The runner becomes your base of operations and dramatically increases your ability to travel around.
Unique activities, shops, and people await you at each destination. Try listening to the concerns of people around town. By taking on side quests and aiding locals with their troubles, you can earn useful items, gain information about obscure locations, and raise your rank in the royal tournament.
To hunt down bounty targets and tackle side quests, you’ll often need to leave town and travel. If you find yourself unprepared to tackle a dangerous area, fear not—you can always retreat from a dungeon and return to town in an instant. There’s also no need to fret if you can’t complete a dungeon within a day. You can set up camp in front of the dungeon and go back to tackling it the next day.
Throughout your journey, you’ll explore a variety of dungeons beyond your wildest imagination—including one inside of a colossal worm! Both the main story and side quests will take you through many truly fantastical locations.
・Spend Time on Your Gauntlet Runner
While on the road, you can spend quality time with your comrades. In addition to learning about their goals and their pasts, your time together will raise your Royal Virtues. For example, doing weapon maintenance with Strohl hones your Courage, while playing chess with Hulkenberg improves your Wisdom. As you build up your virtues, the people around you will begin to perceive you differently. This is an indispensable part of how you gain your Followers, so do your best to diligently better yourself.
Of course, you are completely free to choose how you spend your time on the gauntlet runner. You can cook with your allies to craft valuable items, help take care of your party’s laundry, or just take some time for yourself to read books and raise your virtues. Like how you spend time in town, enjoy the journey at a pace that feels comfortable for you!
You can also make pit stops villages on the way to your destination to shop for rarer local specialties and other items!
・Enjoy Camping with Your Party
Even with a sturdy gauntlet runner, travelling through the wilderness at night is incredibly dangerous. So, when it turns dark, the party pauses its travels and rests up at a campsite. With the calming chirps of insects in the background, take some time to unwind! Campsites offer a lot of nighttime activities, including fireside conversations with your allies or taking baths.
Relaxing in the tub will increase your stats. Using bath salts, which can be found throughout the realm, also provides a range of effects!
・Find the Scenic Landscapes of Euchronia
Throughout your journey, you’ll discover breathtaking sights only possible in a fantasy realm. Whenever you can, take some time to stop and unwind in these beautiful locations scattered across the land.
・Martira, the First Destination of Your Journey
The first stop on the protagonist’s journey is Martira, a rural town southwest of Grand Trad off the main road. A town formed around Kriegante Castle, an old military stronghold, the town’s distance from the main road gives it a rustic feel and, for some people, a certain gloom.
Each destination of your journey offers unique local activities. In idyllic Martira, you can milk cows or take on a test of courage where you bungee jump off of a cliff, all the while strengthening the protagonist’s virtues.
Talking to Martira’s townspeople is also important, as they may point you towards local specialties or offer hints for the main quest.
・Port Brilehaven
One of the destinations the protagonist travels to early in his journey, Port Brilehaven is the largest trade port in the kingdom and the capital of Oceana, the principality occupying Euchronia’s westernmost lands. Owing to a history of extensive sea-route trade with civilians and pirates alike, it’s been known for its powerful navy since before the Annex War, and a rich culture centred on its warriors of the sea.
Sailors freely come and go to Brilehaven, giving it a particularly bustling and free-spirited atmosphere. Many stalls line its streets, and it’s home to the seaside coliseum, a major source of local entertainment. Battles frequently take place in the coliseum, with rewards fitting for the difficulty chosen. For those who would like to test their strength, the coliseum is worth checking out.
Due to the influx of people coming in for the royal tournament, business is booming. The tavern district is home to many inns for these travelers to stay. Additionally, as you’d expect of a seaside town, visitors can enjoy fresh seafood.
As an activity to raise your virtues, you can explore Brilehaven’s many gorgeous sights, including its floating water sphere. You can take in the scenery by taking a boat tour or climbing to a viewpoint above the city.
・The Uncharted Isle: Virga Island
Virga Island is an island of the inland sea in the south of the kingdom.
Lying in the centre of the archipelago, it is home to an old village where many mustari live. It is the sole area of the kingdom untouched by Sanctist proselytization. In major cities on the mainland, mustari are often disdained as pagans, adding to the common impression that Virga is uncivilised.
This has lent the island a great deal of mystique, and few know much about it.
Although it seems at first glance unrelated to the royal tournament, something draws the protagonist and his companions there.
・Consult Online Travellers’ Voices for Guidance
How you spend each day of your journey is completely up to you. Will you tackle the main questline, or will you strengthen your party through side quests? Do you see meetings with your Followers as your biggest priority, or is raising your Royal Virtues more important? You get to decide.
However, if you need a hand making up your mind, you can access Travellers’ Voices for inspiration. This online feature lets you see how other players spent their day and what party formations they used to beat the quest you’re tackling. You can even use someone else’s formation for your own party at the touch of a button. Feel free to use the Travellers’ Voices if you’re stuck on a challenging dungeon or need help managing your time on the road.
