The vocalist Rib, known for his mysterious persona and exceptional singing ability on video-sharing platforms like YouTube, has announced his fifth album, Ratimeria.
Set to release on May 14, 2025, Ratimeria marks Rib’s first album in five and a half years since his fourth album, Ribing fossil. The cover illustration is by Posuka Demizu, a popular illustrator known for her work on The Promised Neverland. The album features eight tracks, including “Twilight,” the ending theme for the TV anime Tasokare Hotel provided by Eve, along with contributions from an impressive lineup of creators such as Kairiki Bear × Shota Horie, Giga (lyrics by Hidefumi Kenmochi), Yoh Kamiyama, TOKOTOKO (NishizawasanP), Sasuke Haraguchi, and meiyo.
The First Press Limited Edition is packaged in a deluxe tall-case format with foil stamping and includes a bonus CD. This CD contains cover songs in collaboration with vocalists whom Rib respects, such as Soraru, Kashitaro Ito, Chogakusei, Senra, and one more artist to be announced at a later date.

I am deeply honored to have been asked to create the jacket illustration for Rib’s album. I interpreted the concept in my own way to bring it to life.
The coelacanth’s appearance is powerful, yet I aimed to give it an endearing face, hoping to convey a sense of approachability. Like a great tree, it grows slowly over a long period of time, a reliable presence watching over the beautiful surface of the sea from the depths. I would be happy if this resonates with the image you have in your mind.

Rib Profile
A male vocalist active in the net scene, primarily on video-sharing sites like YouTube and Nico Nico Douga, as well as social media platforms. His second album, Riboot (2014), reached second place on the Oricon Weekly Ranking, a remarkable feat for an artist primarily active online. Similarly, his fourth album Ribing fossil (2019), released four and a half years later, reached third place on the Oricon Weekly Ranking. He has yet to reveal his face, and his mysterious persona, along with his exceptional singing ability, have garnered strong support from his fans.
On November 24, 2021, he simultaneously released a best-of album, MYLIST, and an acoustic cover album, PLAYLIST. In 2023, he and his longtime friend Soraru worked together under the name “Soraru to Rib” to provide the opening theme song for the TV anime Migi & Dali. In 2024, he largely stayed out of the public eye on social media, but in 2025, the 15th anniversary of his career, he plans to provide the ending theme song for the TV anime Tasokare Hotel, release his 5th album, and hold his first solo live concert in five and a half years, among other activities. He has a deep love for sweets and ice cream.
